What is OSCE Viva?
NMC’s latest update introduces OSCE Viva. It is an option for candidates to rectify errors in the first station. This will potentially ease the re-examination for those failing a single station, with future expansion possibilities.
The number of people losing 1 station out of 10 stations is high. Expert analysis reporting 9/10 success does not display an inferior standard of candidates. Instead, it is mostly due to the time pressure or changes that occurred for exam from their preparation.

NMC currently introduces OSCE Viva, an opportunity for candidates to rectify their mistakes at the end of the station.
In the first station, candidates make a major error and if they have corrected it at the end. Then that particular station is considered a pass.
As of now, OSCE Viva option is open for only 1 station and in the future. It may be revised and established for more stations.
In short, this new change will help lots of candidates who have to resit OSCE because of the failure of just one station. At the same time, it is a matter to see the application of this rule if the candidate is making a mistake in the documentation.
